Authorities announced on Thursday that the police national guard will be established by November 1, 2025.
During a committee hearing on the legislation governing the police guard, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan knowledgeable lawmakers that the timeline has been extended from March to November. This change is necessary to allow sufficient time for the financial arrangements needed for the creation of the unit according to the 2025 budget.
Earlier this year, there were reports that Nikol Pashinyan removed all soldiers from one side of the border, and opted in to put security police instead.
