Russia, Turkey & Iran offer to broker peace deal.
On October 18th, the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan have met in Istanbul, this comes as a good sign due to the deteriorating peace treaty that has been rejected time and time again by Ilham Aliyev, the President of Azerbaijan.
After this meeting, Russia, Türkiye and Iran have offered to broker a peace deal. Lavrov, Russia’s Foreign Minister, has suggested this before, and that “3+3” meetings between Azerbaijan and Armenia be held. Although, Turkiye brokering a peace deal between the two countries seems like a conflict of interest, considering the help they gave Azerbaijan during 2020.
